The Dice Ritual - Crystal

More Dice to conquer the savage beast or slay the valiant heroes with. I had a lot of fun with this piece and have made multiple colored versions of these dice. I hope they bring to you as much pleasure as they have me.

I know that for roleplaying gamers such as myself, the dice are a vital link to the spirit of the game. The digital age and its encroaching storm has threatened the existence of the pen and paper game. But we have risen! We have conquered! We will not allow the computer to ever completely replace the feelings invoked by these simple objects. The sense of luck and accomplishment of seeing a 20-sided hedron land on a natural 20 and know that whatever task at hand be it offense or defense or just general purpose our character just attempted to do, the job is done successfully. And the fear and excitement brought by failing a saving throw or worrying that you will can often bring a player to the brink. That is what its all about. And thats why I dedicate these dice to the gamer!

I know I know. I said a while back I was done with dice. But alas, I could not help myself. All this Mental Ray experimentation has brought me to this. The crux of my existence, D&D dice. Look at those lovely caustics. mmmm..

This took a surprisingly short 1 hour and 24 minutes to render using 3ds Max and Mental Ray.
